Started in 1992
I started at Hine Labels on 9th September 1992, having just turned 16. Hine Labels were at the old factory on Fitzwilliam Road.
My first few duties when I was here were to learn the issuing of jobs and filing cutters away that the machines had been using, after that I started to make plates which we had just started to produce; polymer ones for flexo and waterwash for the delta machine we had at the time.
As we started to get more work I got asked to go into the studio department; after about 9 years in studio I got offered the opportunity of becoming the Production Supervisor.
In 2010 we took a different approach and started to get into the digital side of making labels with a Xeikon 330 toner based press. Since then, we have upgraded that press and got 2 Truepress Inkjet Screen machines along with AB Graphics finishing kit.
My approach to learning new machines/techniques and problem-solving are my biggest assets. Being an approachable leader helps me deal with the people at the company which has more than doubled since taking on the Production Manager’s job. The knowledge I have got helps me deal with all kinds of customer projects.
Technical expertise combined with a friendly attitude makes us very easy to work with.
Where would we be without our amazing and dedicated supervisors keeping us all on the straight and narrow?
