Became Involved with Hine in 1987
I was educated at Rotherham Grammar School, winning a Borough Major Scholarship. I then studied Modern History at Durham University and trained to become a Chartered Accountant. Moved to Allotts Chartered Accountants in Rotherham and Doncaster, becoming a partner in 1978 and spending my career as a business, taxation, and financial advisor. I was a tutor in accountancy at Sheffield University, and was President of the Sheffield and District Society of Chartered Accountants. I served on a number of advisory Committees at the Institute of Chartered Accountants. I have been involved in the affairs of Hine Labels since a couple of years from its inception and have seen it grow from one machine in a workshop at home, through the construction of the Hope street factory, and the introduction of digital printing to the latest exciting developments of new product lines and the resulting need to extend the factory. On retirement from practice, he joined Hine Labels to chair the board and internal meetings, and give strategic and financial advice. I have a keen interest in most sports, mainly hockey, cricket, and football and I'm a Feoffee of the Common Lands of Rotherham, which is Rotherham’s oldest charity. His wife Jan is a retired teacher, and we have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.Technical expertise combined with a friendly attitude makes us very easy to work with.
Where would we be without our amazing and dedicated supervisors keeping us all on the straight and narrow?
